Liparia Splendens. The Mountain Dahlia is not common and has been classified as vulnerable on the Red Data List. I found this lovely one while hiking in the mountain behind Clovelly in Cape Town. They made a fabulous orange splash against the grey mountain boulders.

Interesting fact; the seeds have a fleshy collar that attracts ants. The ants carry the seeds away to their nests to eat the collar and in doing so take care of seed dispersal.
